Last month, the community came together under the sun for a day filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt purpose at the TIU Picnic Fundraiser—an unforgettable event in support of building a hospital on Tortuga Island, Haiti.
Hosted by Tortuga Island United (TIU), the picnic wasn't just a gathering—it was a celebration of culture, unity, and compassion. Families and friends enjoyed games, cultural performances, and incredible Haitian cuisine. But beyond the fun and festivities was a mission that brought us all together: bringing essential healthcare to a community in need.
Why We Gathered
Haiti faces serious healthcare challenges, especially in rural areas like Tortuga Island where access to medical facilities is limited or nonexistent. TIU’s mission to build a hospital there is more than just a construction project—it’s a lifeline. Every ticket purchased, every meal enjoyed, and every donation made during this event directly contributes to providing lifesaving care for individuals and families who desperately need it.
